Nepal beat US in thrilling super over T20 match

Nepal beat the United States in a thrilling T20 contest of the three-match series at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas on Saturday after going to a super over as the hosts could not repeat their final over nail-bitter against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.

Andries Gous-led side could only score two runs in the final, thanks to the good bowling by Rohit Paudel-led side. They got the two players out within four balls of the over.

In reply, Nepal made no mistake and took singles to chase the two-run target. Saurabh Netravalkar also faced a dot ball but ensured to take a single on the next to ensure they have a comfortable win.

With the victory, the hosts lead the three-match T20 series. The final match will be played on Sunday.

In June this year, the US handed Pakistan its historic defeat at the T20 World Cup. The US set a 19-run target after their super over but the Green Shirts could only manage 13.

The teams went to the super over after the home side levelled the score in the last ball of the 20th over.

The US had impressed the world of cricket with their game and fitness level at the mega event. They had claimed to make an upset at the T20 World Cup.
