A 32-year-old domestic worker, identified as Reena, has been arrested in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly mixing her urine into flour dough intended for making chapatis.
The incident came to light following a complaint from one of her employers, who recorded a shocking video of Reena urinating into a utensil and subsequently mixing it with the flour. This disturbing footage has since gone viral on social media, prompting widespread outrage and calls for stringent action.
During police questioning, Reena confessed to the act, explaining that she was often subjected to close scrutiny and verbal reprimands from her employer for minor errors. Frustrated by the treatment, she resorted to contaminating the dough multiple times.
Authorities have registered a case against Reena under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). Investigations are ongoing to determine if she has any prior criminal history.

This incident follows a similar case last month where a man named Aamir Khan, the owner of Khushi Juice Corner, was arrested for allegedly serving juices mixed with urine to customers. His minor assistant was also detained during the operation.
In response to these alarming incidents, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to introduce two ordinances aimed at penalizing the contamination of food with human waste. These new regulations will mandate that all eateries display nameplates with details of owners and staff, while imposing penalties—including potential imprisonment of up to 10 years for offenses such as spitting on food and mixing urine or waste in food products.
