An Air India flight traveling from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi on Monday after receiving a bomb threat shortly after takeoff.
The flight, which departed from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport around 2 AM, was redirected to Delhi Airport under instructions from the government’s security regulatory committee.
All passengers and crew members are reported safe, and an inspection of the aircraft is currently underway.
In a statement, Air India confirmed that the flight, designated AI119, had received a specific security alert.
The airline is working to minimize any inconvenience caused to the passengers due to this unexpected disruption.
