The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf core committee has expressed anger towards party chairman Gohar Ali Khan for not skipping the meeting for the second time on Saturday, sources said.
The leadership’s behaviour was “inappropriate and unacceptable,” they said and added that committee members have voiced their concerns regarding the conduct.
The agenda included discussions on the political situation, constitutional amendments, and protests. As many as 31 participants in the core committee waited for Gohar and Salman Akram Raja, who were both absent.
The PTI chairman had scheduled a video link meeting at 4pm, but committee members expressed their frustration over Gohar’s lack of participation.
According to sources, a meeting called for Friday evening was also abruptly cancelled, leading members to condemn the leadership’s behaviour as “inappropriate and unacceptable.”
PTI Secretary General Raja also cited “sudden commitments” as the reason for his absence from the core committee meeting.
