A tragic incident occurred at Manora Beach in the port city when four family members drowned while swimming in the sea during a picnic.
The victims included a husband and wife, along with the woman’s sister and brother, who had gathered for a day of enjoyment on Saturday.
While the bodies of the three siblings have been recovered, the body of 24-year-old Mustafa Aftab has not yet been located as of the report.
Mustafa’s relatives told Geo News on Sunday that they spent the entire night at the beach and had reached out to rescue officials, but no one arrived to assist in the search for the fourth victim.
Just a day earlier, Mustafa had visited his in-laws in Malir before heading to FB Area’s Dastagir neighborhood, from where six family members went to the beach near Hawkesbay, unaware of the tragedy that awaited them.
The incident occurred while the family was enjoying their time by the water. Upon receiving reports of the drowning, police and rescue volunteers, including divers, rushed to the scene to initiate search operations.
The bodies of the three siblings were recovered within a few hours, but Mustafa’s body remains missing. He was the only child of his parents and had been married for about a year and a half, with no children of his own.
After completing the necessary formalities, the three recovered bodies were returned to the grieving family. They have been identified as Hafiza Imam, Saba Imam, and Maaz Imam.
