Traffic plan issued for Dr Zakir Naik’s address at Karachi’s Bagh-e-Jinnah

Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik is set to deliver a speech at the Polo Ground in Karachi’s Bagh-e-Jinnah on Saturday (today). In anticipation of the event, the traffic police have released a traffic plan to facilitate the movement of citizens.

According to sources, special arrangements have been made by the traffic police for Dr Naik’s arrival in Karachi. During the event, the President House Road will remain closed to traffic from Fawara Chowk to Khajoor Chowk.

Traffic coming from Shaheen Complex will be redirected towards Ziauddin Ahmed Road and PIDC Chowk. Vehicles arriving from Shaheen Complex will be able to access Zainab Market via MR Kiyani Chowk. Traffic coming from Zainab Market will be allowed to proceed from Fawara Chowk to Shahrah-e-Faisal and there will be no parking zones on both sides from Sindh Club Chowk to Metropol and Fawara Chowk.

Parking arrangements have been made at two locations for participants attending the gathering. The traffic police have advised the people to utilise alternative routes.

Dr Zakir Naik arrived in Pakistan on September 30 for a month-long tour that will include lectures in major cities such as Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.

This marks Naik’s first visit to Pakistan in thirty years; his last trip was in 1992 when he met with renowned scholar Dr. Israr Ahmed in Lahore before returning to India.

Originally from India, Naik currently resides in Malaysia due to legal issues in his home country, which has sought his extradition in several cases.
