PMD predicts hot and dry weather across Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released a weather forecast indicating that much of the country will experience hot and dry conditions in the coming days, with some areas expecting isolated rain.

According to the PMD, regions including Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and most districts of Punjab are likely to remain hot and dry.

The higher elevations in KP may see partly cloudy skies. In Balochistan, while most areas are forecasted to stay hot and dry, districts such as Barkhan, Awaran, and Khuzdar could experience gusty winds along with thunderstorms and localized rain.

From September 30 to October 6, 2024, hot and dry weather is expected to prevail across the majority of the country.

Isolated rain and thunderstorms are anticipated in parts of Kashmir on October 4, with similar conditions expected in upper KP, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and central and southern Punjab on October 5. By October 6, the hot and dry conditions will continue, though isolated rain and thunderstorms may still occur in KP, Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

In Karachi, the PMD forecasts partly cloudy skies with hot and humid weather over the next 24 hours.
