The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced on Tuesday evening that it had conducted a significant missile attack on Israel, marking its largest military operation against the Jewish state thus far.
This action was framed as retaliation for recent Israeli actions, including the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and the killing of Iranian military advisor Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan.
The IRGC reported that their domestically produced missiles successfully hit key military targets within occupied Palestinian territories, achieving a 90% success rate despite advanced defense measures in place.
Targeted sites included air and radar bases as well as planning centers for attacks against resistance leaders.
The missile barrage utilized hypersonic Fatah missiles aimed at critical locations, including the Nevatim air base, which is known to house F-35 jets involved in airstrikes on Lebanon.
The IRGC underscored that the operation was executed in accordance with the principles of legitimate defense and international law.

In the wake of the missile strikes, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi indicated that the operation had concluded unless further provocations from Israel prompted a more forceful response.
He cautioned that any additional aggression would be met with even stronger retaliatory measures.
In response to Iran’s actions, both Israel and the United States pledged to retaliate, heightening fears of a broader conflict in the region. Despite international calls for a ceasefire, clashes continued, particularly between Israel and Hezbollah. Israel resumed its airstrikes on southern Beirut, targeting Hezbollah positions, and issued evacuation orders for affected areas.
Hezbollah reported engaging with Israeli forces in the Lebanese town of Adaisseh, successfully driving them back. As tensions rise, thick plumes of smoke have been observed billowing from bombed neighborhoods, further escalating the conflict.
The situation remains precarious as both sides brace for possible further escalations, with Iran maintaining that its military actions are defensive and focused on military targets.
