A 30-year-old delivery agent was reportedly strangled after delivering smartphones worth approximately ₹1 lakh.
The victim, Bharat Prajapati, was attacked by the accused, Gajanan, and his accomplice, Akash, shortly after the delivery on September 23.
The incident occurred in Lucknow.
The crime unfolded when the duo lured Prajapati to a residence in the Chinhat area, where they had ordered Google Pixel and Vivo phones through Flipkart with a cash-on-delivery payment option.
Following the delivery, they allegedly killed him and concealed his body in a sack, discarding it in the Indira Canal.
Prajapati was reported missing by his family on September 25, prompting a police investigation that led to the identification of Gajanan through call records.
Akash later confessed to the crime, revealing their plan to rob the delivery agent.
While Kanaujia and Akash have been taken into custody, Gajanan remains at large, with authorities conducting a manhunt.
