Kubra Aykut, a Turkish TikTok influencer known for her viral “wedding without a groom” videos, died by suicide at the age of 26 in Istanbul.
According to reports from Turkish media, she fell from the fifth floor of a luxury apartment building in the Sultanbeyli district on September 23. Authorities discovered a suicide note at the scene.
In the days leading up to her death, many fans expressed concern over Aykut’s increasingly troubling social media posts.
Just hours before her passing, she shared an emotional letter on her account, discussing her struggles with weight gain. In her last post, she wrote, “I’ve gathered my energy, but I can’t seem to gain weight. I lose a kilogram every day. I don’t know what to do; I urgently need to gain weight.”
Kubra amassed one million followers on TikTok and over 207,000 on Instagram, where her content resonated with many fans. Her passing has raised awareness about mental health issues, particularly among influencers.
