Recent rumors regarding the marriage of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar and journalist Shiffa Yousafzai have sparked significant discussion on social media.
The speculation began when prominent journalist Najam Ul Hassan Bajwa claimed that a senior PTI official from Lahore had married a female journalist, extending his congratulations to the couple.
In a light-hearted response, Azhar acknowledged the compliments regarding his looks but assured his followers that he would inform them directly should any such event occur in the future.
Yousafzai took to her social media account to refute the rumors, stating, “Dear friends, I have not married anyone; I am being unjustly targeted on social media.”
She emphasized that the circulating news is false and called the ongoing discussions pointless. Yousafzai expressed concern over the societal pressures that women face in a male-dominated environment, where they often find themselves needing to justify their existence, particularly those who are professionally active.

Noting that this is not her first experience with such targeting, Yousafzai urged social media platforms to delete the misleading posts and called on respectful individuals to avoid participating in the baseless campaign. She also thanked her supporters for their solidarity.
In tandem, Azhar reiterated that the rumors are fake and encouraged people to report accounts spreading misinformation, describing the rumors as a tactic to distract from their mission to combat oppression in Pakistan.
He urged the public to report the false claims and then ignore them.
