A suspect linked to the murder of gold medalist Irtiza during a robbery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal has been re-arrested in Khuzdar, Balochistan.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abdul Aziz Jakhrani reported that the suspect had previously been captured in Khuzdar and handed over to the Karachi police. However, he managed to escape from City Court Karachi during a hearing in June.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect involved in Irtiza ’s murder is now back in custody and will soon be transferred to the Karachi police.
The alleged murderer of Irtiza had escaped from the court on June 25 as he was arrested in a CIA raid in Quetta and claimed to have arrested the killer of the gold medalist.
A 27-year-old mechanical engineer and gold medalist was brutally murdered in the Gulshan Iqbal area while resisting a robbery attempt on June 2.

The victim had surrendered his motorcycle to the robbers but attempted to hide behind the vehicle. Despite this, the robbers shot him.
The suspects also took Irtiza’s motorcycle as they fled the scene. After the incident, the Sindh government faced severe criticism from all quarters.
Irtiza was the gold medalist mechanical engineer and was the son of a former Nazima (president) of the Jamia Karachi chapter of the Islami Jamiat Talaba.
