A video of Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, has gone viral on social media. The video shows an incidentwhere a bakery employee in Islamabad allegedly verbally abused him during a purchase.
This has led to speculation and rumors on social media, with claims that the bakery employee is missing and the bakery is closed.
The viral video shows Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and his family at a bakery in Islamabad’s Blue Area. When his family placed an order, the salesman, who allegedly filmed the video, asked the Chief Justice if he was indeed Qazi Faez Isa.
Upon confirmation, the bakery employee reportedly behaved rudely and abusively towards him.
The BBC further reported that following the employee’s abusive behavior, the bakery company issued a statement on social media condemning the salesman’s actions. The statement said, “We are aware of a video circulating on social media where an employee refused service to a cusyomer. This action was an individual decision and does not reflect our company’s values.”
The statement continued, “The employee’s misconduct was a personal act and not company policy. An investigation into this matter is underway.”
The company further stated that it does not discriminate in providing services based on any customer’s beliefs, race, or political or religious affiliations. “While respecting personal beliefs, service should never be denied based on personal opinions.”
Following the incident, the company has initiated employee retraining.
The BBC claims the incident occurred in early August, not recently. Commenting on social media reports of the bakery branch being closed, company sources stated that no branch is currently closed and that the social media reports are untrue.
According to the BBC, company sources stated that the employee was not fired, but has not returned to work since the incident.
Company sources further stated that, to their knowledge, the bakery employee has not been arrested or detained by the police.
