ATC sends main suspect in Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar case on remand

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore has sent two suspects, Hassan Shah and Rafiq alias Fiqi, to jail on 14-day judicial remand in connection with the honey trap case involving playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.

The investigating officer informed the court that the investigation is complete and requested judicial remand for the suspects. The court, presided over by Duty Judge Irfan Haider, granted the request.

The suspects were presented in court after the completion of their physical remand. The police did not request further physical remand.

The investigation revealed that the suspects, along with Amina Arooj, had kidnapped Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and demanded a ransom of one crore rupees. Amina Arooj had informed Hassan Shah about blackmailing Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.

The case was filed on July 20th after Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar reported the incident to the police. Police had previously arrested Hassan Shah, the mastermind of the gang, and his accomplice, for allegedly abducting and extorting money from Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar through a honey trap scheme.

The police stated that Hassan Shah is the main figure in a 12-member gang, including women, involved in this scheme.
