Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif introduced a national initiative to promote organ donation, including a special logo for donors on their identity cards.
In his message for International Identity Day, the PM emphasized that organ donation is a “significant act of kindness” that can provide a new chance at life for those in need.
He urged all citizens to get involved in this initiative and join a life-saving community.
Those who voluntarily register as organ donors will have a unique logo displayed on their Computerized National Identity Cards, signifying their commitment to the gift of life, the PM stated on this day, observed on September 16 to promote universal access to identity proof.
He said identity is not merely a matter of recognition, but a “cornerstone of inclusion, representation, and access to essential services”.
