SUV driver runs over motorcycle in Mumbai, killing one

A speeding car struck a motorcycle in Mumbai’s Dahisar on September 13, killing one man and injuring another.

The incident occurred around 4 pm near Shailendra High School bridge.

Karan Rajput (18) and his friend Aditya were riding a motorcycle from Dahisar to Kandivali, accompanied by another friend, Piyush Shukla, on a separate bike. A speeding car hit Karan’s bike from behind, causing severe injuries to both riders.

Aditya was critically injured and lost consciousness. Karan also sustained significant injuries.

The car driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Karan and Piyush managed to reach Seven Star Hospital in Kandivali by auto-rickshaw, but Aditya succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Dahisar Police have registered a case against the unidentified driver under the Motor Vehicle Act and the Indian Penal Code. The police are actively searching for the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.

This incident comes just two weeks after a speeding SUV driven by a 17-year-old boy killed a 24-year-old man in Mumbai’s Goregaon, highlighting the growing concern over reckless driving in the city.
