Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has declared the Parliament Lodges as a sub-jail for detained members of the National Assembly (MNAs) from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The decision was made following the arrest of several PTI MNAs, who will now be kept in their respective lodges within the Parliament complex.
The National Assembly Secretariat has issued instructions to the relevant police authorities regarding this arrangement.
This practice is in line with the tradition of designating the lodges of detained MNAs as sub-jails when production orders are issued for their appearance in court.
