The Sindh government has announced plans to introduce electric taxis in the province, according to Senior Minister for Transport, Sharjeel Memon.
During a meeting with representatives from the Chinese automobile company GAC and Dewan Motors, Memon emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a favorable environment for potential investors.
Memon highlighted that the new electric taxi service will not only promote eco-friendly transportation but also generate employment opportunities.
He assured the delegation of the Sindh government’s support in establishing necessary infrastructure, including charging stations, to facilitate the operation of electric taxis.
In addition, Memon mentioned ongoing discussions about various options for launching the service.
This initiative follows his previous announcement regarding a pink taxi service specifically for women in Karachi, which aims to enhance safety and job opportunities for female drivers.
