NHA to launch helicopter rescue service for Motorways

The National Highway Authority has planned to establish a helicopter rescue service, which would provide rapid medical assistance to individuals injured in motorway accidents, ensuring prompt help reaches victims.

This new service would work in conjunction with the existing 1122 emergency helpline.

The minister overseeing these developments has also directed the NHA to adopt both short-term and long-term strategies to bolster road safety.

Additionally, the importance of transparency in government fund usage has been highlighted, with a call for a comprehensive five-year action plan aimed at enhancing highways and motorways nationwide.
