Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend for the second consecutive day on Friday, mirroring a rise in international rates.
The local market saw the price of gold per tola increase by Rs1,400, reaching Rs263,500. Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs1,200 to settle at Rs225,908, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The surge follows a Rs2,000 increase on Thursday, when gold closed at Rs262,100.
The international gold rate also saw a significant jump on Friday, reaching $2,518 per ounce (with a premium of $20), up by $15 for the day, according to the APGJSA.
Silver prices, however, remained stable at Rs2,900 per tola.
This latest increase comes after gold prices in Pakistan hit a record high of Rs263,700 per tola last month.
