A new case of polio has been reported in Pakistan, bringing the total number of cases to 17 this year.
According to the National Institute of Health, the polio virus was confirmed in a child from Islamabad.
The spokesperson for the National Institute of Health stated that the virus was detected in a child from Union Council 4.
Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab reported 12 cases, three cases, and one case respectively and one child has now been affected by polio in Islamabad.
