Heavy rains, flooding leave residents in interior Sindh stranded

Interior Sindh has been severely affected by heavy rains and flooding, leaving residents stranded and helpless. Families from Mithi have started heading towards Tharparkar and Hyderabad, setting up temporary camps on various mounds in Thar.

The relentless downpour has devastated the region, forcing people onto the streets.

Many individuals have sought refuge along the Mithi-Hyderabad Highway and hundreds of families have established makeshift camps on different hills in Thar.

In Badin district, particularly in the Golarchi and Jhuddo tehsils, heavy rains have caused numerous mud houses to collapse, resulting in the loss of livestock as well.

Those who once lived modestly in their homes are now exposed to the elements, facing dire conditions that have led to food shortages. Despite their plight, district authorities have not assisted.

Due to the lack of clean drinking water, affected people are forced to consume contaminated water from ponds, raising health concerns.
