A police encounter occurred on the Karachi Super Highway, resulting in the death of one police officer and injuries to another due to gunfire from robbers.
The Sindh Interior Minister has requested a report on the incident.
Police officers on patrol in the Site area of the Super Highway received information about the presence of robbers near the Mahammadi Goth stream. Upon seeing the police, the robbers opened fire.
During the exchange of gunfire, two officers were injured, identified as Adil Patafi and Chaman Abbas. Both injured officers were taken to a private hospital, where Constable Chaman Abbas later succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased officer was not wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the incident, and the robbers fled toward the stream, abandoning their motorcycle.
The CCTV footage of the police encounter was obtained, showing the suspects firing and then fleeing the scene.
In response to the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Dr. Farukh Raza arrived, and the police launched a search operation in the area to locate the suspects.
Meanwhile, Sindh Interior Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar has requested details about the incident from the SSP East and has ordered strict action against the suspects.
