YouTuber Haris Sultan alleges scam by Indian video editor

YouTuber Haris Sultan has claimed that he was scammed by an Indian video editor he had hired. Sultan has over 200,000 subscribers on his channel.

According to Sultan, he hired a “cheap video editor from India” who allegedly tried to scam him for money. When Sultan refused to pay, the video editor apparently changed the name of Sultan’s YouTube channel to “Scumbag Beggar.”

In a post on X, the influencer tagged YouTube support, expressing his frustration with the situation. He said that YouTube had informed him he would have to wait 14 days before he could change the channel name back.

Earlier this year, Sultan had revealed that he had received death threats and shared screenshots of the Instagram chats, asking the police to take action.

Sultan moved to Australia from Lahore at the age of 19. He has also responded to reports of rising Islamophobia in Pakistan.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by content creators, especially those with controversial views, in managing their online presence and dealing with potential exploitation by third-party service providers.
