A bogie of the Awam Express, traveling from Lahore to Karachi, derailed at Lahore Railway Station on Friday, causing damage to the platform but no injuries.
According to railway officials, the AC Business Class bogie derailed at platform number 5, resulting in significant damage to the track and platform.
While no passengers were hurt, the incident caused a major delay.
The derailed bogie was removed and the train was moved to a different platform. However, a replacement AC Business Class bogie was not available, forcing passengers to board a different air-conditioned coach.
The train finally departed for Karachi over three hours late.
Railway officials have begun the process of restoring the derailed bogie to the track. More than 20 passengers were accommodated in the lower AC class.
