The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall in most parts of the country over the next three days. In response, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a high alert.

The Meteorological Department has predicted further rain in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab from August 21 to 24. NDMA has expressed the possibility of increased water flow in local rivers and streams, as well as the Kabul River, due to the heavy downpours.

According to NDMA, there is a risk of flooding in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Abbottabad, Parachinar, Charsadda, Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Hazara, and others. Flooding is also expected in Malakand, Mansehra, Mardan, Peshawar, and Swabi.

NDMA has directed all relevant agencies to remain on alert and ensure immediate response to any potential emergencies.

Travelers and tourists have been advised to avoid traveling to mountainous areas due to the risk of landslides.

On the other hand, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) says that most districts of Punjab are likely to receive rainfall in the next 24 hours.

According to the Director-General of PDMA, Irfan Ali Kathia, the River Indus is experiencing a low-level flood situation, while the water flows in the Rivers Chenab, Ravi, Jhelum, and Sutlej are at normal levels. The administration is on alert due to the flood situation in the hill torrents.

According to PDMA, a moderate flood surge passed through Potohar and Sohri northern regions yesterday. An above-normal flood surge also passed through the Zangi area yesterday. The situation in Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan hill torrents is normal.

Kathia stated that the water level in Mangla Dam is at 71%, while Tarbela Dam is at 100% capacity. The water levels in Indian dams are also at lower levels, with Bhakra Dam at 54%, Pong at 53%, and Thein Dam at 26% capacity.

Meanwhile, according to PMD, Lahore will continue to experience a mix of sunshine and clouds throughout the day.

The minimum and maximum temperatures in the provincial capital Lahore are expected to range from 26 degrees Celsius to 34 degrees Celsius, while the current temperature in the city is recorded at 30 degrees Celsius.

The wind speed in Lahore city has been recorded at 5 kilometers per hour, and the humidity level is 74%, resulting in a feeling of sultry conditions.

The weather experts state that the likelihood of rainfall in the city of Lahore is low for today.

Regarding the weather in Balochistan, the Meteorological Department has predicted that most districts of the province will experience hot and humid conditions. Ares such as Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel, Sherani, Loralai, Sibi, Ziarat, Lasbela, Qalat, Khuzdar, and Naseerabad are expected to witness strong winds, thunderstorms, and rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has also reported the following temperature readings from various cities in Balochistan: Quetta 36 degrees Celsius, Qalat 30 degrees Celsius, Zhob 30 degrees Celsius, Ziarat 25 degrees Celsius, Sibi 40 degrees Celsius, Turbat 28 degrees Celsius, Nokkundi 45 degrees Celsius, Chaman 33 degrees Celsius, Gwadar 35 degrees Celsius, and Jiwani 33 degrees Celsius.
