Pakistan’s newly appointed ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has assumed his duties in Washington.
In his remarks to embassy staff, he outlined his top priorities, which include strengthening the relationship between the United States and Pakistan, enhancing economic ties between the two countries, and fostering closer people-to-people contacts.
Ambassador Sheikh emphasized the importance of the Pakistani community in the US, describing them as a valuable asset for Pakistan.
He stressed the need to ensure better service delivery to the community and to pursue result-oriented diplomacy in this regard.
Upon his arrival in Washington on Tuesday, the ambassador was received at the airport by officials from the US State Department and the Pakistani embassy.
