Bangladesh Tests to be held without fans in stands

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to hold the second Test match against Bangladesh without spectators.

The match, scheduled for August 30 to September 3, will be played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, which is undergoing renovations in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The PCB emphasized that the safety of fans is paramount and that holding the match without an audience is the safest course of action. Ticket sales have been suspended, and refunds will be issued to those who have already purchased tickets.

The board acknowledged the disappointment this decision may cause but assured fans that the renovations are aimed at improving their experience and making the venue more spectator-friendly. The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be the first ICC event hosted in Pakistan since 1996.

The Bangladesh team arrived in Lahore on Tuesday and will be training in preparation for the series. The first Test will be played in Rawalpindi from August 21 to 25.

The PCB also announced the return of fast bowler Naseem Shah to the Test side after a 13-month absence due to a shoulder injury.
