Pakistani mountaineer Murad Sadpara has passed away, confirmed Vice President Alpine Club Ayaz Shigri.
Sadpara was injured during an expedition to the 8,047-meter-high Broad Peak in Skardu.
The mountaineer was waiting for rescuers to find him after he was seriously injured at camp 1 due to a stone hitting his head.
The Pakistan Army had deployed four expert mountaineers to the base camp to assist in the rescue efforts. Mirza Sadpara had successfully summited Nanga Parbat for the second time.
Shigri stated that the four rescuers will attempt to bring Mirza Sadpara’s body back to the base camp.

Pakistani climber Naila Kiani had appealed on social media for the Pakistan Army to dispatch a team from Skardu to the Broad Peak crampon point to bring back Ali Sadpara safely.
Sadpara had previously summited Nanga Parbat for the second time.
