The audience’s reaction to Barzakh was anticipated, said actress Sanam Saeed, who is seen in the lead role in the web series.
“There are certain aspects in Barzakh that grabbed people’s attention. Some viewers didn’t understand the show initially, but if they watch it carefully, they’ll get it,” she said in an interview with Indian media. “The audience’s reaction was exactly what we anticipated.”
The star-studded series got an overwhelming response from viewers when it was premiered on YouTube last month for its story and acting. But some of the viewers did not like the episodes after that, citing it as controversial in the country’s society.
In reaction to the response, Zee’s Zindagi decided to remove the web series from YouTube Pakistan. Barzakh’s last episode was aired on Tuesday night.
Still, Sanam has expressed her satisfaction with the audience’s response to the web series despite the controversy surrounding the show in her home country.

While addressing her Indian fans, she expressed a sense of cultural kinship, describing them as “long-lost siblings” due to the shared heritage between the two countries.
“We’ve grown up in different homes but share the same roots. Essentially, we come from the same land but have evolved differently over the years. It’s heartwarming to reconnect with long-lost siblings,” she stated.
