Pakistani embassy in Beirut warns citizens of tensions after assassination of Haniyeh

The Pakistani embassy in Beirut, Lebanon has issued guidelines for Pakistanis in response to the mounting tensions following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

Pakistanis residing in or traveling to Lebanon have been advised to exercise extreme caution.

Also, multiple countries have already issued directives for their citizens to leave Lebanon.

Hundreds of Pakistani workers are affiliated with NGOs in Lebanon, while the number of Pakistani students there is negligible.

The embassy has maintained constant contact with Pakistanis, urging them to reach out to the embassy in case of emergency.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated last week in Iran, the Palestinian militant group and Tehran said, drawing threats of revenge on Israel in a region already shaken by the war in Gaza and a deepening conflict in Lebanon.
