The Foreign Office has stated that Iran’s statements on Pakistan’s domestic affairs were ‘unwarranted’, saying that they were based on an ‘incomplete picture’.
“Such statements about Pakistan domestic affairs are, therefore, unwarranted,” FO spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in response to a question during a weekly press briefing.
“While details may be sought from the interior ministry about the developments, we believe that these statements are based on an incomplete picture of the situation in Parachinar.”
On Wednesday, the Iranian foreign ministry made a social media post regarding the Parachinar situation. But it was later deleted from its social media handle.
Tribal clashes in the Kurram district came to a halt on Tuesday after 49 people died and more than 200 were injured.
Baloch said that the killing of any human being was a tragedy and Pakistan valued the life dignity and property of all its nationals. “As a multi-cultural and multi-faith society, Pakistan is fully determined to foster social harmony, tolerance and mutual respect.”
