The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) in Islamabad has announced new school timings for educational institutions in the city.
The new timings will come into effect on August 5, when schools and colleges reopen after the summer vacation.
Earlier, the federal government had extended the summer break in Islamabad schools and colleges until August 4 due to the intense heat and humidity.
For single-shift institutes, the new timings will be 7:30 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, and 7:30 am to 12:30 pm on Fridays.
Additionally, the timings for Pre-I (Montessori/Prep) classes have been set from 8 am to 12 pm, Monday to Friday. Ex-F.G. Colleges will have classes from 8:30 am to 2 pm and 4 pm (Mon-Thu) and 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Fridays.
Now, the FDE has announced the new school timings, which will be implemented starting August 5.

The provincial governments of Sindh and Balochistan have also announced an extension of the summer break, with schools in those provinces reopening on August 15.
Students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab are also hoping for similar extensions of the summer vacation, but the government has not made any announcements yet.
