A fugitive inmate, Imama Mustafa, who escaped from Rawalakot District Jail a few weeks ago, has been arrested in Peshawar. This brings the total number of recaptured prisoners to ten, according to police.

On June 30, a group of inmates broke out of the jail in Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The escape involved 18 prisoners, including six condemned criminals, who fled in broad daylight.

One prisoner was killed during the escape attempt when police fired upon the fleeing inmates. Following the incident, police launched an investigation and arrested seven jail officials, including the Deputy Superintendent.

The search for the remaining escaped prisoners continues. Authorities have announced a reward of Rs102 million for information leading to the capture of each of the 18 fugitives.
