The case of a young man assaulted by a group of women in Lahore’s Garden Town area has taken an unexpected turn. While the Tuck shop cashier, Iqbal, has reconciled with the assailants, the victim, Yusuf, has refused to settle the matter and will pursue legal action.
Police have not yet filed a case against the women despite Yusuf’s request. He has decided to approach the court to register a case. The Tuck shop manager, Niaz Yusuf, will be accompanied by his lawyers to the court today.
The incident, which gained widespread attention after a video went viral, involved two women assaulting a Tuck shop employee. The women had initially accused the employee, Yusuf, of harassment. Police had recorded statements from all three women and the young man.
The incident occurred on July 7 at a Tuck shop in Garden Town, Lahore. Yusuf was accused by three women of harassment while they were shopping. The women then assaulted him, called the police, and had him arrested.
A case was also registered against him. The video went viral on social media, and after the facts came to light, the court dismissed the case and released Yusuf.
The victim, Yusuf, has requested the police to file a case against the women. The police have stated that they will fulfill the legal requirements in light of the evidence.
