A full-court bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan reserved its decision in the reserved seats case on Tuesday.
Led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, the full court includes Justices Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Munib Akhtar, Yahya Afridi, Aminuddin Khan, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Ayesha Malik, Athar Minallah, Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Shahid Waheed, Irfan Saadat Khan and Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
Lawyers representing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Sunni Ittehad Council exercised their right to reply before the bench after which the decision was reserved.
Lawyer Salman Akram Raja told the bench that there was a discrepancy in how the Election Commission of Pakistan had dealt the matter of reserved seats in the case of the Balochistan Awam Party in 2018 and how it had dealt the matter in the 2024 election.
