Pakistan rout India in World Championship of Legends

Pakistan Champions secured a resounding victory over India Champions in the World Championship of Legends, defeating their arch-rivals by a comfortable margin of 68 runs, marking their third consecutive win in the tournament.

In a match played at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, India Champions won the toss and elected to field first. Pakistan Champions amassed a formidable total of 243 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Kamran Akmal and Sharjeel Khan spearheaded the chase, scoring 77 and 72 runs respectively. Shoaib Maqsood contributed a blistering 51 runs off just 26 balls. Shahid Afridi was dismissed for a duck, while Shoaib Malik remained unbeaten on 25 runs.

For India Champions, RP Singh and Anureet Singh picked up a wicket each, while Dhawal Kulkarni and Poon Negi also dismissed a batsman each.

Chasing a target of 244 runs, India Champions faltered and were bowled out for 175 runs, suffering a crushing defeat. Ambati Rayudu top-scored with 39 runs, while Robin Uthappa contributed 22 runs.

For Pakistan Chamions, Shoaib Malik and Wahab Riaz were the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets each. Sohail Khan and Sohail Tanvir also claimed a wicket each.

This victory marks Pakistan Champions’ third consecutive win in the tournament, propelling them to the top of the points table with 6 points.

The Pakistani team, led by Shahid Afridi, includes Sharjeel Khan, Umar Akmal, Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Misbah-ul-Haq, Abdul Razzaq, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanvir, Sohail Khan, Abdul Rehman, Aamer Yamin, Tofiq Umar, Shoaib Maqsood, Yasir Arafat, and Tanvir Ahmed.

The Indian team, captained by Yuvraj Singh, comprises Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Gurkeerat Mann, Rahul Sharma, Naman Ojha, Rahul Shukla, RP Singh, Vinay Kumar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Suryakumar Yadav, Anureet Singh, and Poon Negi.

The World Championship of Legends, sanctioned by the England and Wales Cricket Board, commenced on July 3rd at Edgbaston Cricket Ground and will continue until July 18th.
