Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has declared a lack of confidence in Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa and threatened to go on a hunger strike in jail if he does not receive justice.
Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court, Khan stated, “I have lost confidence in Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.” He added that he would announce the final date for his hunger strike after consulting with his lawyers.
Khan questioned the Chief Justice’s repeated involvement in his and PTI’s cases, asking why Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa keep is part of every bench hearing his cases.
He claimed that the Superintendent of Jail is working for a major and colonel sitting in the jail and cancels his meetings when the government demands it.
Khan emphasized the need for strong relations with Afghanistan to combat the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He stated that any operation against the TTP would be futile without cooperation from Afghanistan, as the militants would simply flee across the border.
“Until you have cooperation from Afghanistan, you cannot succeed in this operation,” Khan asserted.
Imran Khan stated that Pakistan has a 2,500 km border with Afghanistan, and the party has reservations about the ‘Azm-e-Istekham’ being conducted.
