The trailer for the much-anticipated ‘Barzakh’ is finally out and it’s about supernatural elements. The shooting of the web series in picturesque Gilgit Baltistan brings more flavour to it.
This project has been directed by Asim Abbasi, who got fame through ‘Cake’ and ‘Churails.’ The project has an ensemble cast of Salman Shahid, Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed.
In the two-minute trailer, it’s shown that a 76-year-old man shocks his relatives with news about getting hitched with a spirit that happens to be his first love.
As one would expect from such a revelation, various sentiments are laid bare and quite a number of tempers flare, leading up to situations where certain members within the said household find themselves unable, or rather torn, between whether they should support this union wholeheartedly or perhaps intervene somehow. A key question hangs in the air: “When all has withered, will love endure?”
The events take place during a family get-together somewhere in GB, known for their scenic beauty and serenity as seen through eye-catching cinematographic shots included throughout the clip.
Additionally, there are also scenes shot around the “Land of Nowhere” hotel shrouded in mystery, which further adds to its mystique, making it more exciting than ever before revealed information so far regarding what kind of secrets such premises hold seems promising enough, however, a few disturbing symbols cues hinting at possible cult activities combined with some weird eerie moments underscore potential psychological thriller genre within the same context.
The six-episode series features a strong supporting cast, including Eman Suleman, Khushhal Khan, Faiza Gillani, Anika Zulfikar, and Franco Giusti. Produced by Shailja Kejriwal and Waqas Hassan, ‘Barzakh’ will be available on Zindagi’s YouTube and ZEE5 from July 19.
