Court nullifies over 54,000 recruitments by Sindh govt

The Sindh High Court has nullified more than 54,000 recruitments made by the Sindh government in accordance with the August 2023 advertisements.

A single-judge bench headed by Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput announced the verdict on the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) petition. MQM’s lawyer Faroogh Naseem and the advocate general for Sindh appeared in court.

The court has ordered the provincial government to re-advertise all the positions and conduct fresh interviews and examinations as per the rules and regulations.

The court has directed the provincial government to fill the positions from grade 1 to 15 at the district level and declared the recruitments made in August 2023 as null and void.

In the hearing, the advocate general for Sindh had proposed that the provincial government would re-advertise the positions, conduct fresh examinations, and then hold interviews as per the law.
