T20 World Cup begins today as England look set to defend title

The T20 World Cup would begin on Sunday (today) as the joint hosts of the mega event United States face Canada in Texas.

There are four pools in the mega event, with the archrivals Pakistan and India in the same pool.

The two sides would face each other on June 9 in New York which is expected to be a full house contest. The Green Shirts would be looking to cash on their “T20 specialists skills” despite losing the series against England before the event.

Moreover, Men in Blue would try to end their title drought. India won its last major trophy in 2013 when the MS Dhoni-led side won the Champions Trophy after beating England in the final.

Australia “silenced the sea of Blue people” when they beat India in their home ground in Men’s 50-over World Cup final in Ahmedabad.

England, having an all-star team, would defend its title under the captaincy of Jos Buttler.
