British singer Griff caught in middle of feud between Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo

Pop superstars Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo have reportedly taken a new twist, with British singer Griff caught in the middle.

Insiders have informed The Sun that British pop star Griff was reportedly pressured by Swift’s team to cut ties with Olivia Rodrigo in order to secure a spot as a supporting artist on her Eras Tour in the UK.

The ongoing feud between Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo, stemming from allegations that Olivia used Swift’s work in her hit single “Deja Vu,” has apparently continued to simmer for the past three years. Although the issue was eventually resolved, with Taylor receiving a share of the song’s royalties and credits, rumours of ongoing tension between the two artists have persisted.

Individuals within the US singer’s camp have informed the press that Griff had to distance herself from Olivia to take advantage of the opportunity to join the Eras Tour.

The insider stated that Griff, who had become close to Olivia after they met at the Brits, was advised to withdraw from the launch event for Olivia’s second album, “Guts,” last September to maintain Swift’s favor.

“Supporting Taylor on her Eras tour is a massive opportunity for her and they didn’t want anything stopping that happening,” the insider said and added that while Olivia understands it was not Griff’s fault, “it just feels like a shame to her.”

The inclusion of Taylor, as well as longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff and St. Vincent, in the credits and royalties of “Deja Vu” had previously sparked outrage among Olivia’s fans.

Olivia’s fans have expressed outrage over the situation, with many criticizing Taylor’s team for allegedly strong-arming Griff into cutting ties with Olivia. However, the report suggests that Griff had little choice in the matter if she wanted to secure the coveted Eras Tour slot.
