A three-year-old deaf and mute girl, Sadia, who was kidnapped from the Lines Area of Karachi fourteen months ago, has been recovered and returned to her parents.
Police have launched an investigation to determine where the girl was held captive for all this time.
SP Jamshid Alina Rajpar announced the news in a press conference, stating that a special team led by him was formed to locate the missing girl. The team conducted raids in various areas, carried out operations in slums, and made announcements through loudspeakers in mosques.
CCTV footage of the abduction, which was received by a local television channel today, shows the kidnapper leaving Sadia near a mosque in the Brigade area before fleeing.
The police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding Sadia’s abduction and her whereabouts for the past 14 months.
