Hackers have breached the Islamabad Safe City system, stealing sensitive data and causing significant disruption to the city’s security infrastructure.
Sources report that the Islamabad Safe City Authority’s system was taken offline following the hacking incident.
The hacking incident occurred last Thursday. Hackers infiltrated the system’s main server, gaining access to sensitive data and records.
The hackers also gained access to the criminal database.
The system’s servers were automatically shut down as part of the security protocols following the attack.
Sources allege that authorities have expressed concern over the lack of backup servers. The shutdown of the main servers has crippled the entire system, making it impossible to operate without backups.
Sources indicate that all applications requiring access to the servers have been disabled. The disruption of the Islamabad Police system has impacted online services, making it difficult for police to file cases online.
Online operations at Islamabad police stations have been temporarily halted.
Sources say that efforts are underway to restore the system, which could take up to two days.
