Nine-year-old girl injured in acid attack in Punjab’s Burewala

A nine-year-old girl was injured when an unidentified teenager threw acid on her in Punjab’s Burewala and ran off, police said.

The victim suffered burns on her face, head and other areas of the body, according to doctors at the local hospital.

According to the police, the minor school student was attacked when she was on her way home from school. They claimed that efforts were under way to trace the suspect.

Residents have condemned the horrific attack and demanded strict action against the culprit.

Experts have called for stronger measures to prevent such acid attack incidents and ensure the safety of vulnerable members of the community.

Earlier this month, a lady constable of the Balochistan police was injured in an alleged acid attack by her husband in Karachi’s Baldia Town.

The victim was shifted to the Burns Centre of the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi. Police surgeon Summaiya Syed said the victim suffered burns on her face, chest and other areas.
