JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded a guarantee from PTI to join the opposition alliance against the government.
“Their [opposition alliance delegation] thinking is that there should be contacts between the opposition and we have no disagreement with them in taking a joint stance,” he told reporters after the meeting. “The constitution of Pakistan no longer holds any significance.”
An opposition alliance delegation led by Omar Ayub met with Fazl on Wednesday night. They discussed the political situation and working together.
They agreed to maintain contact in the future as well. Fazl was of the view that contacts should continue in the political atmosphere.
He added that the opposition should unanimously raise their voice for common objectives and called for a positive political environment. “If we cannot eliminate the disagreement, we can at least soften it. There are some priorities for which we have to suspend other priorities.”
When asked if he has sought any guarantee from the PTI, he said: “Obviously, when we want to have serious matters so we have to create an environment.”
