A special court of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Gujranwala has sentenced the main culprit in the Greece boat tragedy to 60 years in prison.
The pronounced a verdict in the Libya boat tragedy case on Monday, finding the central culprit, Muhammad Mumtaz, guilty on three counts.
Judge Muhammad Naeem Sheikh of the FIA special court issued the verdict in the three cases related to the Greece boat incident, imposing a cumulative sentence of 60 years of imprisonment and a fine of 4.2 million rupees on the central culprit.
The court invoked the Immigration Ordinance of 1979 to convict the main accused, Muhammad Mumtaz.
Muhammad Mumtaz faced three separate cases of human smuggling at the FIA Gujranwala Police Station.
