Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has warned that the Earth is facing a powerful solar storm.
In a statement issued by SUPARCO, it was revealed that there is an excess emission of solar rays towards the Earth. This solar storm, which began on the night of May 10th, will continue to impact the planet for the next 48 to 72 hours.
According to the announcement by SUPARCO, the solar storm has resulted in the birth of lights that have been observed as far as Atlanta and southern Africa. SUPARCO is closely monitoring this solar storm using its instruments.
The statement further explained that the effects of this storm are felt on satellites and communication systems. Pakistan has limited capabilities to deal with the impacts of this solar storm.
