Met predicts rain spell as heat grips the country

Scorching heat continues to grip most parts of the country, with soaring temperatures and the sun blazing down relentlessly.

The mercury reached a scorching 47 degrees Celsius in Dadu and Mithi, indicating an intensification of the heatwave. The meteorological department has predicted a possibility of further increase in the intensity of the heatwave.

According to the weather authorities, a new western system is expected to enter the country during the next 24 hours, which may result in hot and dry weather conditions persisting in most areas. However, there is a likelihood of temperatures rising even further in the coming days.

In light of the situation, residents of Islamabad are advised to exercise caution and take necessary precautions, especially regarding water consumption.

However, the meteorological department has brought some good news by announcing that starting from May 10, western winds will enter the region, bringing the possibility of rainfall to Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.

The heatwave has posed significant challenges and discomfort for the people, making it crucial for individuals to stay hydrated and take necessary measures to beat the heat.
