Four terrorists killed in exchange of fire with police in Quetta

In an exchange of fire, four terrorists were killed while attempting to attack a police mobile van in the Kili Zareen New Sarib area of Quetta on Saturday. The police personnel remained unharmed and weapons and hand grenades were recovered from the site.

According to police officials, the mobile van of the New Sarib Police Station was on a routine patrol near Kili Zareen when unidentified armed assailants opened fire on their vehicle. During the timely response by the police, one attacker was killed on the spot while the remaining three managed to flee and sought refuge in a nearby residential area.

Upon receiving information from the police, the Counter-Terrorism Department and a large contingent of police surrounded the area and initiated a search operation. Meanwhile, the fleeing attackers once again opened fire on the police. In the ensuing encounter, the other three assailants were also killed. The police recovered weapons and three hand grenades from the deceased terrorists.

It was revealed that all four terrorists were “associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan”. The CTD officials are conducting further investigations into the matter.
